Why Get Vaccinated Against Flu?

Flu is highly contagious and passes easily from person to person, especially in busy places such as schools and care homes.

When someone with flu coughs or sneezes, they release tiny droplets carrying the virus. Other people can breathe these in, or pick them up from surfaces they touch. Even people with mild symptoms, or none at all, can pass flu on.

Protect yourself further with a Covid vaccination

Free NHS Covid vaccinations are available for eligible patients at our Paulton branch. Find out if you're eligible today.

What is Flu?

Influenza, or flu, is a viral infection of the respiratory system: the nose, throat and lungs. It’s highly contagious and can spread quickly, particularly where people are in close contact.

For most people it’s unpleasant but passes within a week or so. For older people, pregnant women and anyone with a long-term health condition, it can lead to serious complications, which is why the flu jab matters.
