Who Should Get Vaccinated Against Covid-19?
The vaccine is especially worthwhile if you live with, or regularly visit, older people or anyone with a weakened immune system from a health condition or treatment, such as chemotherapy.
You may not be able to have the vaccine at that time if:
- You're unwell with Covid-19
- You have a high temperature
- You're feeling generally unwell because of an illness
- You're at risk of a severe allergic reaction
- You've only just recovered from Covid-19
How Does the Service Work?

Book an appointment
Choose a date and time that suits you at Paulton Pharmacy.

Attend the appointment
Your pharmacist asks a few questions to check the vaccine is right for you. NHS vaccinations are free; for a private vaccination, you'll pay at this point.

Receive the vaccination
The vaccine is given in your upper arm. If you've reacted to a vaccine before, you may be asked to wait 15 minutes afterwards so we can check you're well.
Am I Eligible for a Free NHS Covid Jab?
You may be eligible* for a free NHS Covid jab if:
- You're aged 75 or over
- You're aged six months to 74 and have a weakened immune system because of a health condition or treatment (such as chemotherapy)
- You live in a care home for older adults
* Your eligibility is confirmed during a consultation with our pharmacist.
